Research: ginger improves insulin sensitivity


Various studies have been published in recent years which reveal that ginger (Zingiber officinale) helps to improve insulin sensitivity. The latest evidence was published recently in the specialist journal Complementary Therapies in Medicine. Administration of 3 grams of ginger powder a day to patients with type 2 diabetes led to a significant improvement on the QUICKI index for insulin sensitivity. This means it may prove to be of interest for type 2 diabetes.
